Vietnam
Emerald bays, lantern-lit towns and a cuisine like nowhere else.
Vietnam moves from the terraced rice hills of the north to the river deltas of the south, with UNESCO-listed Ha Long Bay, the lantern streets of Hoi An and the energy of Ho Chi Minh City along the way. It is a country of sharp flavours, layered history and remarkable landscapes, all remarkably affordable to explore.
Best time to visit
November to April is dry in the north; central Vietnam is driest from January to August; the south is dry from December to April. Avoid the central typhoon season in October to November where possible.
Suggested length of stay
12 to 15 days to travel north to south; 7 to 10 days for one region.
